The chocolate bar industry is an $18 billion industry, with the average American eating three chocolate bars a week. Consumers love variety and new exciting chocolate bars to try. This challenge will use a student’s imagination and creativity to see if they can become a chocolatier.

All our Challenges are created in such a way that Trainees of any age can use them. Our test Trainee group ranges in age from 7 years old to 14 years old. However, we have had 5-year-olds successfully complete Challenges with assistance, and even a few parents joined their Trainees to learn to code! We recommend simplifying the task for younger Trainees and helping them with the Challenge Kits. For older students, we recommend that they go more in-depth and that their finished solution is of a higher standard and more detailed. We have also taken into consideration different learning styles. So the Portfolio and Lessons can be adapted to each Trainee’s needs. Ultimately, our program is about working through the process. And you are never too young or too old to learn that skill.

For this Challenge, Trainees over 8 years old should be able to complete it without assistance. Younger Trainees will require assistance.

We know finding homeschool business resources that focus on real-world skills is challenging. So, we have done all the planning and prep work for you.

At STEM Training, we believe you are never too young (or old) to develop entrepreneurial skills. We designed the curriculum to work for students of all ages and learning abilities. Younger students will need assistance from parents, and older students can take the material to a higher level. Our test group for this Bootcamp was 9 to 14-year-olds.

Once the Trainee has completed the Research we move into the development process. This is where they will create their own stop motion animation. The resources we use explore the techniques that Pixar employs. Next, Trainees will develop their own plot, characters, and storyboard.

Finally, as with all our Challenges, each Trainee must put together a five-minute presentation about their Animation. They will be able to use their Trainee Portfolio to work through the Challenge and record their work.

Trainees will take a look at the history of the internet. Then they will meet two STEM Heroes, Tim Bernes-Lee, the inventor of HTML. Our second Hero is Google. We made an exception in this Challenge in that our Hero is a company. Trainees will then take HTML Bootcamp and learn the basics of HTML coding.
